Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True - 1989

Frank Farian said for the vocals rapper Charles Shaw, John Davis and Brad Howell (some give his name as Howe) and singers two middle-aged American who lived in Germany twin sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco, but felt that those musicians were talented but unmarketable. Therefore, attracted by his charisma, Frank climbed Morvan and Pilatus, two dancers aspiring models to take forward the project. The first Milli Vanilli album was All or Nothing. [1] Although criticized (often recycled Farian productions having the same sounds and beats of tracks), Milli Vanilli's fame continued to grow worldwide. All or Nothing was repackaged, remixed and retitled for Girl You Know It's True in the U.S. version. Five singles were released in the second half of 1988 until early 1990: the title track, "All or Nothing", and the three biggest hits, "Girl You Know It's True", "Baby Do not Forget My Number "and" Blame It On The Rain. " The Milli Vanilli won the Grammy for Best New Artist on February 21, 1990 by Girl You Know It's True. [1]Revolt in the media
Some months before the group has received Grammy, something happened that raised suspicions regarding who actually sang the songs of the group. During a live concert at the Lake Compounce theme park in Bristol (Connecticut) recorded by MTV U.S. in July 1989, the cassette containing the recording of the song "Girl You Know It's True" jammed, repeating several times the phrase "Girl You Know It's .. ", to the despair of the duo. According to the first episode of Behind the Music channel VH1, which profiled Milli Vanilli, fans attending the show seemed not to care and continued as if nothing had happened, but critics saw and attacked Rob and Fab in their criticism on the show.
Something which has increased the suspicions of fraud were the statements of rapper Charles Shaw revealed to a reporter from New York that Pilatus and Morvan had not actually sung any song on the album. Shaw quickly retracted his statements (apparently paid $ 1.5 million Farian to keep quiet), in which he claims that they were just stunt his own album. [1]
